During the first days of its independence, the interests of important companies restricted the development of the Congo. North and South Kivu are provinces located on the east side of the Democratic Republic of Congo and have been the stage of an endless conflict: the so called African World War. Political instability, the greed of its neighbors and the clashes between ethnic groups has given rise to a never ending conflict. The first order of business has been to exploit the natural resources by western multinational companies before the arrival of the Chinese, who have followed the same criminal deception. The Democratic Republic of the Congo, known until 1997 as Zaire, is a country located in Central Africa, with a small length of Atlantic coastline with a population of more than 68 million, the eighteenth most populous nation in the world, and the fourth most populous nation in Africa.
